May 27, 2009: End-Of-Year Meeting

Body:

 

Mayor Maciol called the End-of-Year Board Meeting to order at 6:00 PM followed by the pledge to the flag, and roll call.

Present:  Mayor Maciol, Trustee Jarosz, Trustee McCoy, Trustee Semeniak, Trustee Bialek arrived at 6:38 PM.

REGULAR BUSINESS

Trustee Jarosz made a motion seconded by Trustee Semeniak to approve Abstract #13 - General Fund vouchers A698-A703 totaling $2,497.67.

END-OF-YEAR BUSINESS

Resolution 59-2009 - Trustee Semeniak made a motion seconded by Trustee Jarosz to authorize the Village Clerk to mail and collect all taxes, sewer rentals and garbage charges for the 2009/2010 taxes.

Resolution 60-2009 - Trustee Semeniak made a motion seconded by Trustee McCoy to approve the transfer of fund balances to overdrawn accounts for the 2008/2009 budget.

Resolution 61-2009 - Trustee Bialek made a motion seconded by Trustee Jarosz to approve the Clerk to issue the first two concert checks for June.

OTHER BUSINESS

NYRI - June 10th meeting has been cancelled, will be rescheduled.

Whitesboro Spring Matter - Clerk spoke with Firemen's Fund Insurance who stated they will pay Whitesboro Spring directly for any amounts over the estimate amount.

Engineering Proposal for Mudd Creek Bank - Village Engineer Al Swierczek presented his proposal for consulting engineering services regarding the Mudd Creek Bank Stabilization - Royal Brook Lanes Site(s) in the approximate cost of $10,000.                                           Resolution 62-2009 - Trustee Semeniak made a motion seconded by Trustee McCoy to authorize an amount not to exceed $4,000 with an agreement that the Town of New Hartford and the Sauquoit Creek Basin make up the other 2/3rds of the amount.

Burrstone Road School Traffic Lights - Mayor stated we have received correspondence from NYS DOT that the light will be replaced within the next 90 days.

Parks - Resolution 63-2009 - Trustee McCoy made a motion seconded by Trustee Jarosz to hire Cara Rowlands as Park Director contingent on civil service approval.

Resolution 64-2009 - Trustee McCoy made a motion seconded by Trustee Jarosz to hire David Linfield as the fourth Park Attendant contingent on civil service approval.

Resolution 65-2009 -Trustee McCoy made a motion seconded by Trustee Semeniak to hire John Kurgan as the Summer Bus Driver contingent on civil service approval.

Police Proposal - Chief Palmer and Officer Toomey were present to explain the revision of the Child Passenger Safety Grant that we were awarded in the amount of $4,370.  We received approval to purchase a trailer to hold and store the car seats and accessories so that everything could be towed to the location of future car seat programs.  The approximate cost of a 6 X 12 trailer is $1,800 and lettering from Valley Signs is approximately $710. The remaining money will be used for training and additional car seats.  All purchases need to be made by July 1st.  We need to maintain the trailer for three years then the trailer is ours.

Resolution 66-2009 - Trustee Semeniak made a motion seconded by Trustee McCoy to approve the purchase of the trailer and lettering as per the revised grant.

Discussion on the Cleaner along with discussion on the Town of Whitestown Fire Contract followed.

With no further End-of-Year business, Trustee McCoy made a motion seconded by Trustee Jarosz to adjourn the end-of-year meeting.

Mayor Maciol adjourned the meeting at 7:15 PM.
